ABOUT THE DOJO at Bamboo Arts Center

Mushin Dojo is presently involved with Bamboo Cultural Arts Center. It has formed a collaborative with the center to improve and extend the life of dojo for the betterment of continuing its goals. Its interdependence gives it a unique curriculum that is progressive in nature and flexible enough to look at newer ideas on the structure of Aikido as a true and more complete weapons system. In so doing, it makes it more applicable to teach certain skills to students which will allow them to learn methods that are more practically suited for living in modern society. By the content of its curriculum which explores some of the contradictory methods of study pertaining to the paradigm issues of Aiki-bujutsu vs Ueshiba's Aikido's Neo-traditionalist's relationships. One of the biggest advantages of this is that it allows the student to see Aikido as martial science, not a religion. The center and the dojo, are located on a multi acre estate with managed gardens and rolling hills situated right on Cave Lake in DeLeon Springs, Florida. It is a multi purpose facility, which contains within its curriculum, various kinds of entities pursuing various courses of study. Part of the center's land, about and acre of it, is devoted to food production with the long-term goal of sustainable living ideas for community living. The center also has workshops through out the year on various topics, such as: Yoga, meditation, massage therapy, and many others. Feel free to contact the dojo or the center for more information. Classes are Tuesday and Friday 7:30 - 9:00 pm and Sunday 2-4 pm
